Yellowstone!

We spent all day on Thursday in Yellowstone with Mom and Dad. We saw many of the familiar landmarks like Old Faithful and the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone and we also visited the new nature center about Yellowstone. The park was quite smoky as there were several fires burning within the park. When we stopped by Yellowstone lake, we could see the smoke from the fires across the lake. The East entrance was closed due to fire.
At the end of the day we met up with Ryan, Grandma Johnson and Masha to get ice cream and dinner and see "Annie Get Your Gun" at the Playmill Theatre in West Yellowstone. The girl who played Annie was great as were several of the supporting men. Mom took Max and Calvin home to Idaho Falls for the night and Dad and I packed up the next day to head to Idaho Falls with Sophie.

These bison walked onto the road right in front of our car and then stopped there for a good 20 minutes! We rolled down the window a bit and could hear them bellowing at us and at each other! Finally a ranger came along and told us to inch forward and try and make the bison move. The one in front of our car would have none of it and eventually we had to drive around it!
