Good luck on the diet! I want before and afters of everyone. Maybe some progression shots too!
You may just need to try a different protein powder. That's what I eat every day for breakfast and It's super yummy. My husband blends his up like you did, with spinach. I just mix it with rice or soy milk and pour it over fruit because I need something to chew.
No, no soy proteins I've ever bought have been grainy. I was on a mission a while ago to find something other than soy (worried a little about about ovarian cancer) and tried a brown rice protein powder that was grainy and nasty. I've tried egg white proteins, called casein protein. It is also not my favorite. The cheapest that you can just get at Walmart or anywhere is EAS. I buy one that's made for the local American Family grocery store that's cheap and good. If you want to find one that has the least amount of carbs, you could go to a GNC, where you will find a dozen different ones to choose from. (That may be what you did before.) But if you have a GNC, and walk in there and ask them, they will try and sell you whey protein. I can't do whey. It makes me break out... but whey protein is more easily absorbed by the body. TMI? and not really answering your question at all! You have to be careful though not to accidentally buy a weight gain or meal replacement. A lot of them have so many carbs and fat that they are really meal replacements and not just protein.
I am a busy Mormon mother with three children from my first marriage and four bonus children in New York. I am a child of God. I am blessed with three wonderful extended families and many amazingly talented friends. I work full-time in a dental office and we live in a little 1940's rental just five blocks from the public library.
I adore Oregon.
I am happy. I am busy. I am loved.
I may be changed by what has happened to me, but I will not be diminished by it. Maya Angelou
"Love never dies a natural death. It dies because we don’t know how to replenish its source. It dies of blindness and errors and betrayals. It dies of illness and wounds; it dies of weariness, of witherings, of tarnishing." -Anais Nin
The light in this pic is absolutely beautiful.

Shan - What kind of protein powder do you use? Is it grainy when you blend it up?

ReplyDeleteShan - good to know. I just bought it at my local grocery store and did not like it at all. I'll try GNC and see what they recommend.
