Christmas Fun at Dakota City

On Saturday afternoon, Kelly and I took our kids to the Christmas festival at Dakota City in Farmington. There was an admission charge per adult and per child, but we managed to get a great deal - $10.00 per carload. We stuffed two adults and 6 kids in our car!

The festival was held in about 15 different structures, each with a different craft or display. We saw hand made quilts, old printing presses, trains, wrote letters to Santa, made postcards for military servicemen, bought hard candy in the old confectionery shop, took a ride on a horse drawn carriage, made crafts in the old library, visited the barbershop for a haircut (as in a single hair), met Santa and received candy canes, warmed ourselves by the wood stoves in every building and very best of all, had our silhouettes drawn by a local artist for free! It was a lot of fun and quite a bargain!
