Views from my window - Tuesday

Here is what it is like outside - COLD. The snow is the kind where there is a hard layer on top, but not quite hard enough to hold your weight. The kids walk home from school is a long process. Step. Pause. Crunch. Repeat.

Sophie pulled this sheet of the hard snow off the top and informed me she was going snowboarding.

Sophie always comes home happy as a clam, all bundled up in her winter gear and covered in snow from rolling herself down every hill. Max alternates between happy and crying as he believes that if he takes too long getting ready to leave, he will be locked in the school. Thus, many days he walks home with his gloves in his backpack instead of on his hands. That's a cold walk when it is 0 degrees outside.

See these red gloves? Lost. Gloves and mittens crawl away in the winter months.

See these wacky kids? Voluntarily hanging out in the freezing cold. I think they just want an excuse to beg for hot cocoa when they come in.

  1. We call that Creme Brulee snow. The crunchy on the top kind.
I had Greg for the day last Friday and he wanted to go ice skating or something. I was just getting over another cold and was not really feeling up to that. I was definitely thinking he was a whacky kid because all I wanted to do was stay inside nice and warm and dry. He can have all the hot chocolate he wants, but I'm not going out there. We ended up playing Monopoly for 4 1/2 hours instead.
