A New Easter Trick
This year, the Easter bunny brought color coordinated eggs. One color per child - a little socialist? Yep. This new system allowed the bunny to be sure that each child found the same number of pencil toppers, a shiny new dollar coin and one two dollar bill. The kids did not seem to mind the change and I loved the lack of "it's not fair" that plagued our egg hunts in the past.

Fantastic idea!!
ReplyDeleteWe have been doing this for years and it sure makes for a peaceful egg hunt! We have even had themed eggs for each child and had different sizes one year too. They get pretty excited when they find a siblings' eggs that haven't been found yet and love to keep the secret!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic idea - especially for children far apart in age. It is hard to keep Phoebe from picking them all up before anyone else (MARGOT!) has a chance to get them. . . sigh . .. Amber
ReplyDeleteI just came across your blog by googling egg carton flower craft from LDS Friend mag. I couldn't recall which Friend (I am LDS too) I'd seen this in and wanted to make it this morning with my kids.
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to say, I used to be a single Mormon mom too. Prayers and blessings from my my heart to yours.
Sincerely,
Susana
