Gratitude Wall

This is our gratitude wall - err, door. Every morning during breakfast we read a quote about gratitude and stick it to the door. I punched out a bunch of turkeys and anytime the kids do something kind to a family member, they get to put a turkey on the door. We read all of the new turkeys each morning and then thank the person for their service. The kids have really gotten into it- making each others beds, reading books to Calvin and working with him on his letters etc.
I'll post another photo on Thanksgiving Day when hopefully the door will be covered with acts of service given.

Your gratitude quote of the day:

"You could have an experience with the gift of the Holy Ghost today. You could begin a private prayer with thanks. You could start to count your blessings, and then pause for a moment. If you exercise faith, and with the gift of the Holy Ghost, you will find that memories of other blessings will flood into your mind. If you begin to express gratitude for each of them, your prayer may take a little longer than usual. Remembrance will come. And so will gratitude."

  1. I absolutely love your blog! The turkey wall is adorable! I'm from Minnesota, too (St. Peter, right now). I wish I had your creative mind to plan my wedding!

  6. Hi new visitors! The turkey's are actually a Sizzix die-cut. I just used up some scrap paper to punch them out.

  8. LOVE the idea...yes we are copying it here in Apple Valley. Maybe a Christmas tree with ornaments or presents to last until Christmas. I am so sad. I tried to get a ticket for Friday night (yes I was inviting myself..Tiffany said I could :)) and it was sold out. I am hitting the theater around here. I am SO EXCITED I can't stand it.

  11. I do this for Lenten Season and have the kids fill up all their deeds. One time we placed a penny in a gift box all done up everytime they did a good deed. Then we donated it to the church for Christmas as their donation & good works. Very cute. Keep up the great job with your kids!

  13. Hi Natalie and new visitors! The signs on the door are all quotes about gratitude that I pulled off of the web. I took many of them from conference talks from my church (LDS.org) but others I just googled "gratitude quotes" and printed some off. We would discuss them at breakfast and then add them to the wall. If you click on the photos, they will enlarge for you.
