Gingerbread Stickiness

In the fall, I try to find as many opportunities as possible to make and eat gingerbready things. Last week I made these gingerbread muffins with lemon glaze. Here is my review: the flavor of the muffins was divine. I was disappointed that they did not have a nice high dome. I enjoy a nice high dome on my muffins. The glaze is sticky. Out of control sticky. Yummy, but sticky. If I make these again, I will try a lemon cream cheese frosting or a brown butter icing or a less sticky lemon glaze. After all that reviewing, you should know that these lasted less than a day in my house - all 2 dozen of them. I ate several right from the oven, because I was the reviewer you see.
