Valentines - Oil Pastels
One of the things we did for Valentine's Day was this craft using oil pastels. It is a very simple idea and appropriate for both younger and older children.
I gave each child a white piece of cardstock and some heart shaped doilies. The kids each decided on their own design to make with the hearts.
Glue down the doilies. Help your neighbor.
Once they are glued down, start outlining the hearts in different oil pastels.
Use your fingers to smudge the pastels together.
Some kids cut out their hearts and adhered them to black cardstock. Others decided to make different designs. Here is the baby punching down his heart to make it stick!
Sophie used lots and lots of colors. We have not used oil pastels much in the past, but will certainly try them again!
